Construction begins well before ground is broken. During the design phase, we conduct on-site analysis of existing conditions, consult with the city on permit timelines, and confirm required trades and preparatory work.
Upon completion of design, we meet on-site with our trusted trades to review scope and gather quotes, then produce a detailed timeline and budget grounded in current industry knowledge.
With a signed contract, construction proceeds in a methodical, efficient sequence. Materials and trades are coordinated in advance to maintain momentum without compromising quality.
Clients receive daily or weekly progress summaries and thorough documentation throughout, ensuring full transparency and control from start to finish.

Significantly, particularly at the outset. The pre-construction phase typically involves weekly meetings and regular communication, allowing us to build a thorough understanding of your needs and establish a plan that supports efficient execution.
Once construction is underway, involvement shifts to regular progress reviews covering budget, schedule, and any on-site developments, complemented by photos and videos to keep you fully informed.

Initial consultations, in person or virtual, are 45 minutes and complimentary. The purpose is to review your project, establish rapport, and gather the information required to prepare a proposal.

Time & Materials: T&M is the most transparent pricing structure for interior renovations. Clients pay for actual time and materials, supported by detailed timesheets and receipts tracked in our budget management software. It is also the most adaptable option, as scope adjustments are reflected directly in cost. T&M is Sonoma's preferred method for interior renovations and construction.
Fixed Fee: Fixed fee pricing provides cost certainty, with payment issued in draws throughout the project. Contracts include a contingency allowance to account for unforeseen site conditions and labour or material fluctuations. As a result, clients may pay a premium relative to a well-managed T&M engagement. Fixed fee arrangements are available upon request.
